AUTHOR: Slublog DATE: 1/27/2004 08:42:00 AM ----- BODY: Dean's Not Done - I've predicted many times that Howard Dean will be the Democrat nominee for president. Needless to say, I'm not so sure now. The "I Have a Scream" speech in Iowa was a major blow to his campaign and image. Still, though, it's probably too early to count him out. The Wall Street Journal says there's still some fight left in his campaign. Hugh Hewitt is watching the Dean fundraising and says it's still strong. My prediction is that Kerry will win New Hampshire, but with far less of a margin than the polls are now showing. Kerry has a compelling life story and resume, but is one of the least inspiring speakers I've ever seen. His speeches are beyond boring, and the applause lines are cheap throwaways. He could still give Bush a fight, though, which could be healthy for the administration, which tends toward the arrogant at times. Let's hope the Democrat fight pushes the Bush campaign out of its complacency and into the fight. --------
